ABOUT US

WHY WELLHOTEL EXISTS

GHA is more than an accreditation body—it is a strategic partner committed to enhancing patient experience, healthcare quality, hospitality, wellness, and global trust. Its expertise, drawn from leading accreditation agencies, top-tier medical travel and hospitality executives, and the best practices of high-performing organizations worldwide, allows it to provide tailored solutions that support healthcare providers, wellness resorts, hotels, and other industry stakeholders serving both international patients and wellness-focused travelers.

With a mission to elevate standards globally, GHA bridges healthcare, medical travel, hospitality, longevity, regenerative medicine, and wellness to foster excellence, safety, and trust across the full customer journey. Its impact is reflected in improved patient and guest satisfaction, stronger operational performance, enhanced market positioning, and sustainable business growth.

WellHotel® Accreditation is GHA's specialized wellness hospitality program designed to recognize hotels, resorts, retreats, spas, and wellness-focused destinations that demonstrate excellence in wellness experiences, guest safety, operational quality, and holistic wellbeing. The program bridges hospitality and wellness through internationally recognized standards focused on wellness operations, personalized experiences, emotional wellbeing, cultural sensitivity, healthy lifestyle support, and trust-driven guest engagement.

MISSION

WellHotel® for Well-being exists to establish trust, safety, and excellence in wellness-focused hospitality worldwide. Developed by Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA), the program sets clear, measurable standards that ensure hotels consistently deliver high-quality experiences for guests seeking wellness, recovery, and holistic well-being during travel

VISION

Our vision is a global hospitality ecosystem where wellness is credible, verifiable, and embedded into hotel operations—not just marketed. WellHotel® envisions hotels as active partners in supporting physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental well-being for travelers across leisure, business, corporate wellness, and medical travel journeys

WHY TRUST MATTERS

WellHotel® is built on independent third-party accreditation, not self-reported claims. GHA is the only accrediting body globally dedicated exclusively to wellness and medical travel — providing assurance to guests, corporate buyers, insurers, and partners that accredited hotels meet rigorous international standards. The seal cannot be purchased. It must be earned.

WHAT IS WELLHOTEL® ACCREDITATION?

WellHotel® Accreditation is a globally recognized, third-party certification program developed by Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) to verify that hospitality properties meet rigorous international standards for delivering safe, high-quality, and holistic wellbeing experiences for travelers.

Unlike wellness labels or self-declared claims, WellHotel® Accreditation is evidence-based and independently assessed — providing guests, corporate buyers, healthcare organizations, insurers, facilitators, and other partners with confidence that a property’s wellness offerings, operations, and environment meet defined, measurable benchmarks.

Accreditation evaluates systems, not amenities. A property earns the WellHotel® seal by demonstrating that governance, staff training, operational procedures, physical environments, and continuous improvement processes are genuinely embedded — not just present on paper.

SPECIALIZED CERTIFICATES OF EXCELLENCE

In addition to the five-leaf structure, GHA offers two specialized designations:

Medical Travel
Certificate of Excellence

For guests travelling for medical procedures, this designation identifies properties with dedicated recovery environments, clinical coordination protocols, enhanced sanitation standards, and specially trained concierge teams. Assessed independently of the Foundational Accreditation.

Corporate Wellness
Certificate of Excellence

For corporate clients and travelling employees, this designation identifies properties with embedded employee wellbeing programmes, structured retreat capabilities, and the operational depth to make a measurable difference to your team. Assessed independently of the Foundational Accreditation.

These are focused programs designed to highlight a hotel’s capacity to serve medical travelers or prioritize employee well-being.
They can be added after achieving the foundational accreditation.
